Vail and Breckinridge Colorado

Still trying to catch up to Christmas Eve and Christmas. On Thursday (day before Christmas Eve) we went and stayed up by Breckinridge in the very same hotel that we stayed at for our honeymoon. We explored, sledded and ate to name a few things.
This is us exploring Vail. Oh, how I can't wait to get this babe out so that I can enjoy the skiing!

Window shopping.
Her dog Penny is riding snugly in her purse. I felt like I was walking around Vail with Paris or something.

Sledding in Breckinridge.

The snow blizzard didn't stop us from shopping and exploring. All we needed was a little hot chocolate and cider and we were good to go.

A little outdoor ice skating.

Oh Christmas Tree

Last Saturday we headed to the mountains to cut down our very own Christmas tree. Let me tell ya, there was very slim pickins'. For some reason I had imagined the trees in the forest to look just like the trees that we have always bought. Haha, not so.

After a very thorough and very
very
lengthy look at the map...
Beck determined that this was to be the place our tree was awaiting its slow but certain death.
So the search began. He looked here and
he looked there.
Meanwhile, I let Bryn take photos.
She, however, would not look at the camera. So I devised an evil plot. I told her, "Look Tyler (a boy she likes) is here! This was her hopeful expression!
This is a look of hopes having been dashed.

Ah, young love.
Alas, the tree of our ah, dreams I guess. It was the very best we could find. Never mind the big fat hole in the back.
Now it was time for the mountain men to get to work.

Who knew he had any sort of muscles? I certainly did not.

Until next year...

Dallas World Aquarium

On the day of Beckham's birthday party we had some old friends stay with us and we all decided to go the Dallas World Aquarium. Kel took the kids about a year or so ago. I had never been though. It was pretty cool, but I'm not sure it was worth the price.

Tangent and Pics

Last night on my way home my Advanced Photography class
(that's right folks, I'm an official Advanced student now. Actually,
I'm pretty much a professional fauxtographer now :), lol),
I was listening to Delilah.
Don't even, I know you all listen too!
Actually, she almost always gives really
HORRIBLE advice.
For instance a female caller calls in (barely, slightly, almost not at all dramatized),
"My husband never brings me flowers anymore or does anything spontaneous. What should I do?"
Delilah - "Leave his A! You deserve better than that no-good, lazy sac of a husband.
You are woman, go and find you a ReAL man!!"
Caller - "Thanks Delilah, I am the best and I deserve the best!"
Hmmm...
And should we offer some wine to go with all that cheese in her voice?
Wow, anyways... I got a little side-tracked there.
Back to last night. She was going on and on about looking up to Heaven for answers and how God really answers prayers and puts things into perspective.
Maybe I need a sliver of humble pie 'cause I thought that was really
cool how she put herself out there and actually gave some good advice.
Now, I have opened myself up to attack (especially from my mom and Kara) to peeps that are in love with the queen of cheese. Oh well, such is life. :)

The kids and I went to feed the ducks across the street at The Reserve.
Aubryn picked this flower just for me.

Being silly.

Actually, truth be told. We really didn't get to feed the ducks, we tried.
We pretty much just stuffed our own faces with the old crusty bread. Mmmm...

Just Add Water

Will this rain ever go away??!!
I seriously need some sunlight in my life!
Well, I must admit - we have been enjoying it a little.
We went on our very first
family
bowling
trip
ever!!
Let me tell ya,
It was H E double hockey sticks!
Don't get me wrong, I think the kids had a blast, but
talk about the whole concept of taking turns!
Wow, all of a sudden that is a mind-blowing concept.
Not walking out onto the lane was another tough one to grasp.
And not throwing multiple balls down at once was insanely hard to
drill into their cute little (in Beck's case, enormous) heads.
And not sticking your head into the machine that spits the balls out was another toughy.
Oh well, they did look extremely cute in their bowling shoes!
I love Beck's face in this one. I remember doing this as a kid. They loved jumping in the rain.

The End.
