Bryn and Bre

Today I let Aubryn change her first official diaper. She did an excellent job. When she was finished she proudly proclaimed, "mom, she didn't pee on her diaper changing pad! She's learning to be a woman like us!"

Hello Spring.

I am finally getting some photos with all three of the kids together. I couldn't get my frickin' frackin' peice a crappin' {new} camera to work for me today. I guess I should read the manual and start learning it. It is so different from my Sony. Ugh. Like I have time to read another blasted manual! Oh well, I think I was able to get a few cute pics of my saplings.

Bre will be six weeks old tomorrow. It seems that the first 6 weeks are always a blur. I decided it was high time that I break in my new (Canon) camera and lens that Kel got me a couple of months ago. I am switching from Sony, but will still keep it and most of my lenses that go with it as a back up camera. I also just purchased a new back drop that looks like a barn wood floor and wall. I love it! Thank goodness it is machine washable because Ambreigh already peed and threw up on it twice. Not to mention pooped in her blanket while I was trying to get some shots of her. Oh, the joys of working with newborns...

This just cracks me up. She has a love/hate relationship with her pasci. She either holds it in for dear life or (if in a volatile mood) uses it as a projectile weapon. Love her!

a mckendrick update

Life is good, life is busy as always. We have been pretty sick these last several weeks. We just can't seem to kick it. My mom has been wanting to see some pics of Ambreigh and it has taken over a month to post some. Here are some straight out of camera snap shots that I have managed to take over the last 4 weeks of her life.

Here is a little update on us:

Kel- Keeping busy with work and his calling (YM Pres). He passed both of his major examinations for Merrill Lynch. Thank goodness because if he hadn't he would have lost his job. He is really liking the people he works with. He just went skiing in Vail a couple of days ago with his firm. Must be a rough life.

Me- I am keeping busy with 3 little kids 6 and under (including a newborn). I have also been fighting a cold for a few weeks and hoping that I am finally on the mend. I have been feeling pretty well so I went back to Shannon's hard core class at church when Bre was 4 weeks. It feels SOO good to be able to breathe and move the way I want to again. Not to mention, my bed feels so amazing again too! I can't wait to start skiing, hiking, mountain biking and just finally being able to take advantage of living in this state.

Aubryn aka Bryn- Is doing well at school. Thoroughly enjoys learning (and is reading entry level books) and her friends at school. She has been sicker than a dog. Her entire life she has been vexed with the inability to rid herself of a cough when she walks by one. She has been battling this horrific cough for about 3 weeks now and has been out of school quite a bit because of it. Poor girl. She has been as helpful as she can with the baby when she is healthy. I can tell that she is going to be amazing with her. She just has that old motherly soul and knows just what her sister needs.

Beckham aka Beck- Boy oh boy. He is a character. When we first brought Bre home from the hospital he did a series of very naughty things. Like cutting his hair down to the scalp. So short that we had to buzz his ginormous lop-sided head. Then he took my razor and shaved his head in several places. He also took Kel's electric razor and shaved off half of his eyelashes. Seriously, gah!!! He is so loving to the baby though. So sensitive and sweet. Although, he is constantly calling her baby Stella (must have a thing for her). He has been my baby for so long and he seems so old now. So huge and so old. It makes me sad sometimes.

Ambreigh aka Bre - She, of course, is wonderful. This baby has been the easiest so far. Maybe because I am more experienced as a mother. Maybe because she is is just better. Probably a little of both. She has the most amazing deep blue eyes and long curly eyelashes. I am obsessed with her.

We haven't been able to shield her from the sick germs though. She has had RSV. Although, she has barely been sick at all. She has done remarkably well. I took her into the Dr. 3x last week to get her oxygen tested which was a 96 and 97 every time (which 93 and above is normal and good) so that was great and her chest was "clear as a bell." We have been so grateful for that. This is a time that the breast milk really came in handy I think. At her 2 week appt. she had grown a whole inch (putting her at 20 and a half inches) and weighed 8 lbs. At her one month appt. she was 20 and 3/4 inches and 9 lbs. 1 oz. It's a miracle how amazingly fast little babies grow. I am just trying to soak her in as much as possible and enjoying every minute of it!
