Let The Good Times Roll

This summer has gone by AMAZINGLY fast. I hate it. I wish time would go more slowly, but alas June is almost over and I still haven't started the most important thing that I wanted to do this summer - which was start working on Aubryn's reading. Anybody know of some good phonics work books?

This was game 1 for Kel's flag football team. Beck wanted to be involved so badly. He was up in the team huddle in the beginning and was absolutely devastated when Kel pushed him back over to the side lines.

We made these masks one afternoon during craft time. I think they were a hit.

Before and After

So we have been doing quite a bit of changing on the inside and outside of our house. I am pretty excited about it. I never arrange and rearrange furniture. I just throw it together really fast and then leave it the ENTIRE time I live in the house. This time around I have had a HUGE itch to change EVERYTHING I possibly can. These are some pics of when we bought this house in June of 2007 and then the after pics are below. I feel like our house was naked before and we have finally gotten around to getting it dressed. I have also made quite a bit of changes on the inside. It is still a work in progress but I have been refinishing pretty much every piece of furniture that we own and doing some rearranging as well. BTW - I heart Weirs!



The shutters are a dark dark green and we also added the white trim on top.



I guess I could have at least moved the garbage cans for the pics, but that's basically Kel's only job. Definitely don't want to take that manly opportunity away from him!

BFF

Tonight Aubryn, Beckham and I were jumping on the trampoline. Out of nowhere she comes up and raps her arms around me. She looks up and says, "Mom, you're my best friend." Honestly, she is one of my bestest friends too.

Beckham's 2 year Wellness and other random happenings

I finally got around to making Beck's 2 year wellness visit. Head = 20" which is 90th %. Length = 37" which is 95th%. Weight is 32 lbs. which is 90%. I never posted any of his other stats, so for the sake of record keeping, his 1 year was as follows: Head 19" which is 90%. Length = 32 1/2" which is greater than 95%. Weight = 24 lbs. which is 75th%. 15 month chekup: Head = 19 1/2, 95th%. Length = 34 1/2", 95th%. Weight = 28 lbs, 90th%. Whew, glad that boring stuff is out of the way.

I love this. Aubryn will just sit and do starfall.com forever and Beck is just glad as can be to watch and learn with her.



Beck is NOT a t.v. fan, but will sit and watch our family video for an hour. Of course he must have his favorite blankey that Grandma McKendrick made for him when he was just a babe.

Kellly forgot Mother's Day (again). When we got home from church these flowers and a note were on my vanity. At first my blood starting boiling because I thought that he had wronged a wrong by forgetting Mother's Day (again :) ) and then broke the Sabbath (it was in a different vase). After closer examination I saw that they were actually hand picked! What a cutie. He left during Sunday school and found a field full of wild flowers. I wish that I could have seen him walking around this field in a suit picking flowers! Especially because a few a them had major thorns sticking out all over. I actually don't mind as much on the inside as I act on the outside when he forgets things because he always more than makes it up to me! In the note, one of the things he said is that he was going to take me to Europe. I know he would totally hold true to that, but I know this sounds crazy, but I really don't know if I want to go right now at this point in our lives. I kind of want to go when our kids are older. I don't know. I guess I'm just not as adventurous as he is.

Whenever Aubryn out sleeps Beck during nap time, he always has to go and wake her up. This time we were eating cookies after he woke up, and he was wandering around the house with a handful. Awhile later it was getting pretty late so I decided to go and wake Bryn up when I saw this! He had apparently gone in and laid a cookie on her chest while she was sleeping. What a good little sharer! I sure love my cuties!

San Antonio

We went to San Antonio this last Thursday for the first time and had a fantastic time! There is so much to do. That is really a cool city. We spent two days at Sea World and I feel like we still didn't get to cover everything. The kids loved it! They loved the shows, feeding the dolphins, Shamu, the water park, rides and so much more! They were so good too! They are at the age where they are a lot easier to travel with and I am so glad that we decided to do this. Aside from going to Sea World, we stayed at the Crown Plaza off of the River Walk. This river goes through the city and is bustling with people, restaurants and things to do. We walked around there quite a bit, ate Mexican food every day, and even took the river boat tour. They also have this place called "El Mercado" or the Market. Very cute and fun. Finally, we visited the Alamo. I would highly recommend going there.
