Another One Bites the Dust!

On January 02, 2009 Kelly's sister married Jace in the Mesa, AZ Temple. Her pictures turned out amazing! The biggest regret from my wedding is that we didn't hire a photographer. Oh well. Congratulations Jace and Lis, we love you! BTW - my mother-in-law sewed this wedding dress, along with all the bridesmaids and flower girl dresses! As if the mother of the bride didn't already have enough to do!

My Brother Spawned:)

Here is my brother Vance when he came out to visit me in AZ while I was going to school.

After his mission he decided to move to AZ and lived for a bit with Kelly and I.
While there he met Heather. She DEFINITELY was a HUGE step UP for Vance. While he has many good attributes, Heather has many more great attributes.
Now he is an EMT for Border Patrol in Southern AZ.
Just a few weeks ago he and Heather had their very first baby whom they named Gemma Lorel. Congratulations on your beautiful babe!

Our Fearless Daughter is Afraid of Baptism??

Sunday before last we took Aubryn to her first baptism. I thought that she would really enjoy it. She has always done really well in water and has been swimming by herself (no floaty) for over a year now. Instead, when she witnessed it she gasped in fright. Her reaction really took me by surprise. Last night for FHE I decided that it was time to do a lesson on baptism. When I told the family what the lesson was on she burst out with, "I DON'T WANT TO BE BAPTIZED!" Wasn't expecting that either. I ask, "why don't you want to be baptized?" After thinking a moment she says, "because it is very dangerous." That made Kel and I giggle. What a cutie pie! Long story short we talked about it more, showed her pictures and Kelly practiced "baptizing" her in our living room. Now she keeps "baptizing" herself and I am afraid she is going to try to baptize Beckham! No doubt I will be keeping a very close eye on them in the bathtub!

55+ Hr. Work Weeks + Grad. School + YM = Single Mom

Life is good, life is grand. I say that half way serious, half sarcastic. These next two years may just go by a little bit slower than in the past, but I have been wanting life to go slower anyways. These are a few of the happenings in the McKendrick household over the last couple of weeks.

After I got the kids out of the bath I was combing Bryn's hair. When I came out of the bathroom I see Beck just strolling around the house in nothing but his birthday suit and crocs! I guess he figured he had the most important thing on! As I was taking a couple or pics of him he decided to be extra sweet and pee right as I am taking a picture of him. I must say that it is a pretty funny picture!

Kel went with some friends to go tour the new Dallas Cowboys Stadium. He thought he was so hot!

This could have been bad. Good thing Bryn is so dang good! Her babysitter fell asleep before she did, so Bryn got Brittany a blanket and curled up on the floor beside her. If it had been Beck, the house would have been set on fire!
So alluring! This is Aubryn's way of saying, "I don't want any more pictures taken of me so I am going to look as unhappy and t.oed as possible.

Heart Attack

Today Aubryn and I had  a dentist appointment over in McKinney.  This was Bryn's first experience at the dentist and I wanted it to be positive.  They took her x-rays and she did perfectly.  Then they took her to start her cleaning and started to do my x-rays.  Then the receptionist comes in and tells me that our insurance company is saying that McKinney Dental is not the dentist group that we are under!  What?!!  Kelly is very particular about insurance and yadda yadda.  So I knew that it had to be some kind of clerical error.  I just wanted to start crying because I was unsure of how to fix what was going on.  Sparing my pain and agony, long story short, I got the insurance company to do an immediate switch for Bryn today but Kel and I will have to wait until the beginning of next month for our coverage to be effective.  So yet another trip to the dentist for me.  Oh well,  I am just glad that Aubryn had a very enjoyable time at her first dentist appointment!

Food for Thought

So I am laying in bed unable to fall asleep for my usual nap because all I can think about is food! First Sundays of the month always are bothersome when I am trying to sleep:) In addition to thinking about my ever increasing hunger pains I have a few other things on my mind. Since Kel has been gone since Thursday I have had a lot of time to think to myself. The kids and I were supposed to be on this trip as well, but because of Kelly's work being so crazy busy and some of my motherly feelings (leaving Beck for a few days) I decided it would be best if Kel just went. So much for US airways working with us on this. Two plane tickets flushed down the toilet. Oh well, I think that we made the best decision. Last night I finally sat down to watched "Steel Magnolias." I had tvoed (?) it awhile ago, but knew that Kel would not be game to watch it with me. I didn't have the whole thing recorded but got the gist of it anyway. I really liked that movie. It got me to thinking (probably because I was feeling so lonely over the weekend) about how it seems like to me that women in the church often don't seem to be as tightly nit as women outside of the church. We all are friends, some better than others, but it seems like everything is so on the surface (in general). Nothing very deep and personal. OK, so realize this is just my opinion and that I am just watching chick flicks where all the women are so genuinely close. I feel like women (including myself) get so caught up in our kids, husband and house (none of which are bad) that we don't take time enough to cultivate the relationships like in the movies! I guess I really just want my life to be like a movie! Maybe I am just missing my high school and college days of hanging out with the girls. I'm sure that Andrea, Shahna or any other wise women will have something insightful and profound to say that will help me put things in better perspective :)

Four and Fabulous!

Kel's in Arizona for the weekend for his sister's wedding, but before he left last night we were able to celebrate Bryn-bryn's big day. I know that every parent says this, but I can't believe that I have a 4 year old! She is more than wonderful, caring, sweet, beautiful, smart, compassionate, friendly, giving and the list could go on and on. She is one of my best friends.

OK, so I am so NOT a fan of Hannah Montana but apparently she is quite popular among little girls. I really don't even know how she could like her so much. She has only seen the show a few times and that was a long time ago. Nonetheless, Hannah Montana it is.

I love you SO much baby girl!!
