Here are a few of the projects that I have been working on for the past few months. I am by no means done with their rooms, but here is a start.

The Nursery

So what say ye, do you like the tutu wreath with the striped ribbon or the solid black ribbon?

It was so easy to make. I {heart} pinterest.

This is a button bouquet if you can't tell from the picture.

I recovered this rocking chair and refinished it in black. It is used to be a honeyish wood color.

Aubryn's room.

I made Kel put the chandelier in her room, then I recovered the lampshades with rosettes and feather boa.

The tutu wreath is perfect because she is so in love with ballet (as am I).

Her bedding was kind of a pain. The lace cost more than the actual duvet.

This lamp was from a very exclusive boutique called Goodwill. The base was gold (yuck) which I spray painted a metallic color. Then it just had a regular lampshade which I added some gourmet coffee filters to.

And then of course, my bib obsession. I think I already posted on fb. If only there was more time to create....

So many more projects to tackle.

my baby is one

yes, alas it is so. my darling baby girl is one. it is the first time i have shot in this new house with the different lighting and the tan walls. now i know for the future a little bit better what to expect for my white balance and exposure. back to baby, i just love her, but she works me to the bone! i'm not kidding. never have i been so exhausted with a baby. although, i am turning 30 tomorrow. my days of youthful energy are fleeting.

BTW, she absolutely devours chocolate cakes (just like her mama). I couldn't get her to barely touch this vanilla cake.

The Nutcracker Party

My dear sweet girl has turned 7 (but looks 9). Every other year she gets to have birthday parties with friends and on the off years it's just with her boring ol' family. This year she chose the Nutcracker as her birthday theme (which mightily pleased me:) ).









One of the games that the kids played (thanks to Kel's exemplary art skillz) was pin the drum on the Nutcracker.

Bre is OBSESSED with chocolate just like her momma. 'At a girl.

Arizona Christmas 2011

After looking at all these pictures, I have determined that it was much too early to be opening presents. :)

It was so good to visit Arizona. I love it so. Especially because while in school I met my husband there. Had our first child there. Built our first two houses and lived in our crappy little apartment there. I love the weather, the palm trees, the orange groves...oh everything. I have been very fortunate to fall in love with every place that we have lived....
Kel and I took his dad's old convertible out on a lunch date while we were there. We went to our favorite mexican restaurant (Rosa's) that we loved when we were dating and in school. Then we went to our old hood to remember our younger years when suddenly the horn starting going crazy. It was so embarrassing. The top was down and everyone was wondering why we were honking uncontrollably at them. It was terribly hysterical I must say. Needless to say, the reminiscing was ended abruptly as our horn was sporadically going off all the way down the 60. It was a great time.
