Cannery
OK, so I know that I just said that I wasn't going to the cannery to buy anymore food storage until I get all the bags that I already have canned. Well, I went to the cannery today. Initially, I was just going to get info on storing food in 5 gallon buckets and buy the oxygen absorbers, but then I saw all the lonely cans up on the shelf. How could I just leave them there when I had driven all this way just to come back with one thing? So I couldn't help myself, I had to go to the shelf and load 5 boxes with miscellaneous food. Oh yeah, did I mention that I was also carrying my diaper bag and my 30 pound baby while trying to make sure that Aubryn didn't somehow get into a food fight or some other mischief? But HOLY COW! I don't think I could ever can the food myself again! That was so much faster! Not to mention it really didn't seem that much more expensive. FYI- powdered milk has gone WAY down while some other products have increased.

Randy Pausch
I don't know if any of you all of heard of Randy Pausch?? Unfortunately, he passed last Friday. He was a professor at Carnegie Mellon fighting pancreatic cancer. I think part of the reason I really like him is because he reminds me so much of my father in law, but also he is just a really great person. If anyone gets a chance, you should listen to "The Last Lecture." It was intended for his three little children, but it has caught the attention of people across the nation (over 6 million people have viewed just online). For me, it has inspired me to be a happier, more optimistic, and just a better person.
