I Love You

The husband is getting better and better with each passing year.
I always knew that with a persistent attitude and a
firm yet gentle hand,
that I would be able to train my man in the way he should go. :)
This year he has really shown me that he actually
listens....
He showed this to me by finding my Jane Austin book containing seven of her best novels.
A tripod, external flash, and a melt-my-heart perfect card.
Each I have mentioned in passing and he took note.
For that he gets an
"A."

6 years and counting.
I love you. I just can't help it. I really really do.
I love everything about you.
Starting from the top -
your brilliant blues,
bushy brown eye brows,
perfectly straight nose.
Full pink lips
to
your totally happening behind.

Your long strong arms make me feel
safe
and
protected.

I love that you love to surprise me.
Which is good because
I love to get surprised.
I love that you have superb taste -
the fact that you chose me proves my point (hehe!).

Thank you for choosing me.
Thank you for making me stretch to new heights along with you.
Thank you for listening and remembering (the important things anyway).
Thank you for always being supportive.
I know that our marriage is far from perfect but,
I know that you are perfect for me
and
I am perfect for you.

Tangent and Pics

Last night on my way home my Advanced Photography class
(that's right folks, I'm an official Advanced student now. Actually,
I'm pretty much a professional fauxtographer now :), lol),
I was listening to Delilah.
Don't even, I know you all listen too!
Actually, she almost always gives really
HORRIBLE advice.
For instance a female caller calls in (barely, slightly, almost not at all dramatized),
"My husband never brings me flowers anymore or does anything spontaneous. What should I do?"
Delilah - "Leave his A! You deserve better than that no-good, lazy sac of a husband.
You are woman, go and find you a ReAL man!!"
Caller - "Thanks Delilah, I am the best and I deserve the best!"
Hmmm...
And should we offer some wine to go with all that cheese in her voice?
Wow, anyways... I got a little side-tracked there.
Back to last night. She was going on and on about looking up to Heaven for answers and how God really answers prayers and puts things into perspective.
Maybe I need a sliver of humble pie 'cause I thought that was really
cool how she put herself out there and actually gave some good advice.
Now, I have opened myself up to attack (especially from my mom and Kara) to peeps that are in love with the queen of cheese. Oh well, such is life. :)

The kids and I went to feed the ducks across the street at The Reserve.
Aubryn picked this flower just for me.

Being silly.

Actually, truth be told. We really didn't get to feed the ducks, we tried.
We pretty much just stuffed our own faces with the old crusty bread. Mmmm...

Just Add Water

Will this rain ever go away??!!
I seriously need some sunlight in my life!
Well, I must admit - we have been enjoying it a little.
We went on our very first
family
bowling
trip
ever!!
Let me tell ya,
It was H E double hockey sticks!
Don't get me wrong, I think the kids had a blast, but
talk about the whole concept of taking turns!
Wow, all of a sudden that is a mind-blowing concept.
Not walking out onto the lane was another tough one to grasp.
And not throwing multiple balls down at once was insanely hard to
drill into their cute little (in Beck's case, enormous) heads.
And not sticking your head into the machine that spits the balls out was another toughy.
Oh well, they did look extremely cute in their bowling shoes!
I love Beck's face in this one. I remember doing this as a kid. They loved jumping in the rain.

The End.

Oh Happy Day

Today was a good news Doctor appointment.
I know some friends and fam know that I have been having a lot of appointments, but don't exactly know why. Well, it seems lately I have been having a bit of bad luck in the
health department.
I decided to write about it to
1 - give thanks
and
2 - let everyone know at once so that I don't have to tell the same story over and over.
I have had a series of blood tests and sonograms and scans which have indicated
1 - that I have had mono (finally recovered)
2 - I have an autoimmune disorder called Hashimoto's disease
3 - Have a nodule in my neck (on my thyroid) which was feared may be cancer. After several appointments at Centennial this week, we found out today that it is not. However, I will need sonograms yearly to keep an eye on it.

Today is a happy day for me because I was finally able to start taking my medicine! I can't wait to start feeling better! Just a few more weeks and some more blood tests to make sure that I am receiving the right dosage, and I should start feeling good! Thanks to everyone for taking turns babysitting, dinner, and encouraging texts.
I'm scared to check my mailbox. I so don't want to deal with all the fun bills.
We have a $3000 deductible. Nice.

BTW - the daddy/daughter dance was so fun tonight! I love my calling!

GiddyUp!

Last night we headed over to good ole Fort Worth for some good ole fashioned western fun.
Kel's dad is in town for the weekend and we wanted to show him how Texans kick it in these here parts. We ended up having more fun than we had bargained for.

This is me in a dance competition with 9 other girls!
However, we didn't know what the heck we were getting ourselves into
until they had all of us out there in front of everybody!
I haven't danced in a l o n g time, and dancing on demand ...
you can just say that it was a bit rusty.
For those of you that were at Sarah's for GNO,
I dance about as well as I sing!

The video of the hideousness is at the bottom of this post.

(Also, I broke my camera :( so this is just a few pics and video off of our digi cam, I don't know if there was ever a worse camera invented.)

Chasing of the lamb.

I'm so in love with my little man!

We went to eat at Risky's BBQ right across from the FW Rodeo. Kel can never get enough of the all-you-can-eat BBQ ribs. In our family we take eating very seriously. Even the youngest can never stuff his face enough.

Make sure to relish every single bite Beck. Mmmm....

We openly and warmly embrace our new (3 years young) Texas life. Who knows, maybe someday I'll be a real cowgirl!
Grandpa McKendrick and Aubryn
This was the cutest thing in the whole world! They had all the little kids run out into the poopy dirt, roll around, and then chase a lamb around. Whoever grabbed the ribbon first off of the lamb won.
Each video is only about a minute long or less. After 10 girls, there were only me and this other girl left. I didn't know that they were slowly taking the other girls away (I was blind-folded) and leaving the crappiest dancers on the field to compete, er I mean, make a fool out of ourselves. Kel said that the last girl was going completely nuts doing karate chops and stuff. Pretty funny. After they ended the music though they said that the other girl had been cheating by peeking through her blind fold at her competition, meaning me (pretty steep competition, hehe). So maybe that disqualifies her and makes yours truly quite possibly, the most uninhibited, ridiculous dancer this side of Texas has ever known. Haha, no, I wouldn't think of giving myself such an esteemed honor. :)
The blindfolds made it a bit hard to not fall over. Fortunately, I didn't do that. The videos are a bit scrambled.

Nerves

I start my first photog class tonight.
{that's the cool way to say photography, I think}
I feel so nervous.
I hope I don't get lost.
I hope that the teacher doesn't hate me.
I hope that the kids will be my
F
R
I
E
N
D.
I hope that I won't feel like an
idiot.
I hope that I'll enjoy it as much as I think I will.

I will.
Wish me luck!!!
